Clay County and Smithville are preparing for their annual fireworks display and parade. The parade will take place at 6 p.m., and the fireworks will take place at 7: 30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Clay County Courthouse on the corner of South Main Street and State Street, according to a city news release. Clay County and Smithville have teamed up with Kansas State Police and the Kansas Department of Public Safety for a fireworks display.
